What Is Delivery Percentage?
Delivery percentage is the share of a stock's traded shares that were actually delivered to buyers' demat accounts rather than bought and sold within the same day. A high figure means most of the trading came from investors taking delivery, while a low one means intraday trading dominated. It cannot tell you whether those investors were buying or selling, so a high reading is not a buy signal. The delivered shares column shows the delivery volume in lakh shares. How We Find High Delivery Stocks
Delivery percentage and delivered quantity come from the NSE end-of-day bhavcopy. We keep liquid Nifty 500 stocks and rank them by today's delivery %. A stock's usual level is its average over the previous 20 sessions (at least 15 needed, holiday files skipped). The gap is measured after subtracting how much the whole market's median delivery moved today, so a market-wide high-delivery day does not put every stock on the list. Computed after market close.
Delivery Percentage Questions
What is a good delivery percentage?
There is no fixed good number. Across liquid Nifty 500 stocks the median is around 50%, and 70% or more is high. Compare a stock with its own usual level: some large stocks are always high.
What is delivery volume?
The number of shares actually delivered on the day, as opposed to total traded volume. The delivered shares column above shows it in lakh shares.
Does high delivery mean a stock will go up?
No. Buyers and sellers both take delivery, so high delivery shows investor-driven trading, not direction. Read it alongside the price.
How often is this list updated?
After every market close, from NSE end-of-day data. The names can change daily.
